On Family Literacy Day, January 27th, 2011, Newfoundland and Labrador Laubach Literacy Council Inc. (NLLLC) launched a provincial fundraising campaign called “Roll Pennies for Pages”. It is our intention to ask the people of Newfoundland and Labrador, to donate pennies to help us buy the materials and supplies needed for our one-on-one literacy tutoring programs. Depending on the literacy level and needs of the learners, supplies may cost anywhere between 2500 pennies to 50,000 pennies per student! We are asking all schools in Newfoundland and Labrador to support this fundraising effort and invite your school to participate. Since it is our goal to raise literacy levels in the province, as a thank-you to participating schools, we will make a donation of 10% of the total funds raised in this campaign to the school that donates the most pennies per capita. We are also inviting individuals and businesses to participate. They can make their pennies go further by donating their pennies in the name of a registered school which will increase the school’s penny account. All donations above $20 are eligible of a charitable donation receipt for tax deduction purposes. - NLLLC welcomes new Administrative Assistant - Projects
