The President's Corner Hi Everyone,

It’s so hard to believe that Labour Day weekend has come and gone. This usually marks the end of our summer holidays. It’s the time of the year when we get back to a routine that usually involves a busy schedule for most of us.

The Exploits Laubach Literacy Council has been quite involved all summer planning and organizing the Annual General Meeting and Conference taking place in Grand Falls- Windsor on Oct. 21-23. Make sure you keep those dates open.

Please keep in mind that we are still looking for a host council for 2005 AGM. This will need to be announced at the upcoming conference. Hope to see you there.

Meet the NLLC Staff

Hello Everyone,

I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself.

I have recently been hired as the Executive Director of the Newfoundland and Labrador Laubach Literacy Council.

I am Isabella Fry’s replacement- more or less. Isabella worked for LLC as a field services coordinator for this province; I work directly for the NLLLC reporting to the provincial executive. This is the first time NLLLC has hired an Executive Director so, needless to say, the past summer brought lots of challenges.

Like Isabella though, my duties involve providing support to the councils, training tutors and recruiting volunteers, tutors and learners.

I have really been enjoying my work here and I look forward to meeting you all in the coming months. If you need to speak with me before then, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
